The Alliance for Stroke Awareness and Prevention Project (ASAPP) is working to raise awareness about the importance of recognizing, preventing, and treating high blood pressure. High blood pressure is the leading risk factor for stroke globally and affects one-third of adults in every country and region of the world. We support and train community volunteers who provide free high blood pressure screening and counseling at places of religious worship. Individuals with high blood pressure are counseled to seek confirmation and medical treatment at a government health facility or at a not-for-profit or private clinic.
